Spending time with women living in the challenging geographical conditions of Leh-Ladakh during this campaign was not just a program for us, but a significant step towards learning, building trust, and driving change.

Our objective was not merely to spread awareness, but to instill confidence in women that their voice, their knowledge, and their leadership are vital for the development of society.

Introduction

Leh-Ladakh, one of the most remote and beautiful regions of India, is known worldwide for its cultural heritage and natural beauty. However, many women living amidst these high mountains still face challenges such as limited access to information, opportunities, leadership, and social participation.

Keeping these challenges in mind, Utthaan Global Foundation organized the Women’s Empowerment Awareness Campaign with the objective of promoting awareness, self-confidence, community participation, and leadership capacity among women.

What We Did

Approximately 30 local women participated in this campaign.

The purpose of the program was not just to impart information, but to create a safe environment for women where they could openly share their experiences, ask questions, and understand new possibilities.

The following topics were discussed during the program:

• Women’s rights and legal awareness
• Importance of education
• Health and hygiene
• Self-confidence and leadership capacity
• Financial awareness and self-reliance
• Role of women in society

Why This Initiative is Important

Empowerment begins with awareness.

When a woman understands her rights, abilities, and opportunities, her impact is not limited to her own life. Her confidence provides a positive direction to her family, children, and the entire community.

Although nearly 30 women participated in this campaign, through them, this message can reach many families and other members of the community.
