My name is Edwin Kinter. I live in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, alongside my pillars of strength—my wife, Jyoti, and our 17-year-old son, Joshua. We are a modest family of three, bound together by love, sharing our days within the walls of a small rented house. As the sole breadwinner, my family relies entirely on the fragile income I am able to bring home.
For years, my singular mission in life has been to build a secure, bright future for my family. Desperate to lift us out of financial vulnerability, I gathered our lifetime of limited savings and poured them into a small home startup. Every rupee invested was carried by a prayer—that this business would finally anchor our daily needs and secure my son’s higher education. Tragically, the venture collapsed. Instead of the stability we desperately prayed for, we were plunged into a devastating, suffocating financial crisis.
Our world fractured. My son, Joshua, is in Class 12—a pivotal, defining crossroads of his young life. He is an exceptionally brilliant, hardworking, and sincere soul who dreams of carving out a meaningful path in this world. Yet, as a father, I found myself paralyzed by an agonizing reality: I could no longer afford his basic school fees or educational expenses. Watching your child study under the looming shadow of a disrupted education is a pain no parent should ever endure. The crushing fear that my financial failure would shatter my son’s future became a weight too heavy to carry. Broken by this absolute helplessness, my wife and I came to the agonizing decision that we would have to stop our son Joshua’s education entirely.
